Referral Programme Terms

Last updated: 3 October 2026

1. About these terms

1.1 These terms. These Referral Programme Terms ("Referral Terms") apply to the Inispo referral programme (the "Programme"). They form part of our Terms & Conditions (the "Terms"). Everything in the Terms also applies to the Programme, including section 13 (fraud reviews and account restrictions) and section 15 (misuse, pricing errors and vulnerabilities). Where these Referral Terms and the Terms differ on a matter about the Programme, these Referral Terms apply.

1.2 What a Reward is, and what it is not. A Reward is a loyalty benefit that Inispo provides, from its own funds, to customers who bring new customers to Inispo. It is shown in pounds sterling only so that you can see its value. Wherever it appears in your account or in our app:

  • a Reward is not money. It is not a payment, a salary, a commission, a cashback or a bonus, and Inispo does not owe it to you as a debt;
  • Inispo does not hold money for you. The funds behind your Referral balance remain Inispo's until you use the balance to pay for a Gift Card on Inispo, or until we pay a withdrawal to your bank account under section 11. A withdrawal under section 11 is the only way in which a Reward can become money;
  • your Referral balance is not a bank account, a deposit, electronic money or a payment account, and it earns no interest. Inispo is not a bank, an electronic money institution or a payment institution, and the Programme is not a financial service; and
  • a Reward can be cancelled, deducted or ended only in the situations these Referral Terms describe, in sections 9, 13 and 15.

1.3 Taking part. Taking part is optional. You take part when you claim a username, share your referral link, or create an account through somebody else's referral link.

2. Definitions

"Referrer" — a customer who shares their referral link.

"Referred customer" — a person who creates an account through a Referrer's link and confirms their email address.

"Referral link" — a link that contains your username, in the form inispo.com/r/yourname.

"Reward" — a loyalty benefit that Inispo provides to a Referrer under these Referral Terms. Section 1.2 explains what it is and what it is not.

"Referral balance" — the record of the Rewards available to you: the total of your Rewards, less what you have spent, withdrawn or had deducted. It is not money (section 1.2).

"Tier" — your level in the Programme: New, Established, Trusted or Partner.

3. Who can take part

To take part, you must hold an Inispo account and meet the conditions in section 3 of the Terms, which include being at least 18 years old. While your account is under review, restricted or suspended under section 13 of the Terms, we may limit what you can do in the Programme, as section 13 of these Referral Terms explains.

We may refuse to let you take part, or remove you from the Programme, where section 13 of these Referral Terms applies.

4. Your username and referral link

To invite people, you choose a username. Your referral link is built from it. A username is permanent. You cannot change it after you have claimed it, and it is never given to anybody else, even after your account is closed. You do not need a username to be referred, to buy or to spend Rewards; you need one only to invite others.

A username must not be offensive, must not break the law, and must not suggest that you are Inispo, a member of our staff, an Issuer or another person. We may refuse a username, or disable one that breaks this rule. If we disable your username, your referral link stops working.

An account cannot be its own Referrer. Two accounts cannot be each other's Referrer.

5. How a referral is recorded

A person becomes your Referred customer only if they create their account through your referral link and then confirm their email address. The referral is recorded at the moment they confirm it.

A referral is recorded once and is final. Every customer has at most one Referrer, and a Referrer is never replaced. We cannot add a referral afterwards — for example where somebody registered without using your link — and we cannot move a Referred customer from one Referrer to another.

The Programme has one level only. You earn from purchases made by the customers you referred directly, and not from purchases made by the customers they refer.

One account can have at most 500 Referred customers. After that, new registrations through your link are not recorded as your referrals.

6. How you earn Rewards

When a Referred customer completes a Gift Card purchase, you earn a Reward. The Reward is a percentage of the Gift Card's face value — not of the price the Referred customer paid. The percentage depends on your Tier at the time the purchase completes. The current percentages are shown on your Referrals page.

Rewards are paid for by Inispo. A Referred customer pays the same price as any other customer, and receives no discount or other benefit because they were referred.

You do not earn a Reward for a purchase that was not completed, or that failed, was cancelled or was refunded before it completed. You do not earn a Reward for purchases made through your own account, or for purchases a Referred customer made before their referral was recorded.

7. When you can use a Reward

A new Reward is pending. It cannot be spent or withdrawn while it is pending. Each Reward has two waiting periods, both counted from the date the purchase completed: one before you can spend it on Inispo, and a second, equal or longer, before you can withdraw it as cash. The waiting periods depend on your Tier and are shown on your Referrals page.

If you move to a higher Tier, a waiting period that has not yet ended may become shorter. If you move to a lower Tier, the dates already shown to you for your existing Rewards do not change; the lower Tier applies only to Rewards you earn afterwards.

8. Tiers

Everybody starts in the New Tier. We review Tiers regularly and move accounts between them automatically, according to the requirements shown on your Referrals page: the age of your account, your own purchases, your Referred customers' purchases and the number of different Referred customers who have made a purchase. You must meet every requirement of a Tier to reach it. The Partner Tier is available only by written agreement with us.

A chargeback, a payment dispute or an open fraud case on your account returns it to the New Tier until the matter is resolved. Where we suspect or find fraud or misuse, section 13 also allows us to move your account to the New Tier from any other Tier.

9. Cancelled and reversed Rewards

9.1 While a Reward is pending. We cancel a pending Reward if the purchase it came from is refunded, cancelled or fails, if its payment is disputed, if the card issuer reports it as fraudulent, or if we find that it was fraudulent.

9.2 After a Reward becomes available. If any of those things happens after the Reward has become available, we deduct the Reward from your Referral balance, even if you have already spent or withdrawn it.

9.3 What is deducted. We deduct only the Reward that the purchase created. We do not deduct the price of the purchase, or any fee we paid because of the dispute. However many refunds, disputes or fraud reports concern the same purchase, its Reward is deducted once.

9.4 A cancellation is final. A cancelled or deducted Reward is not restored, even if a payment dispute is later decided in our favour.

9.5 A negative balance. If a deduction is larger than your Referral balance, the balance becomes negative. Your future Rewards are then used to clear it, and nothing becomes spendable or withdrawable until it is above zero again. A negative balance does not expire, and it is not cleared by closing your account or by opening a new one. We recover a negative balance only from your future Rewards, and never from your payment card or from Gift Cards you hold — unless it arose from fraud or misuse by you, in which case section 13 of these Referral Terms applies.

10. Spending your Referral balance

You can use the available part of your Referral balance to pay for Gift Cards on the Platform, for all or part of the price. There is no minimum amount. Paying with your Referral balance does not change the price of the Gift Card.

If a purchase paid partly or fully with your Referral balance is refunded under section 9 of the Terms (because we could not supply the card), each part of the payment goes back to where it came from: the card payment to your card, and the Referral balance to your Referral balance. We never refund Referral balance to a card or a bank account.

As section 1.2 explains, your Referral balance is not money. It cannot be topped up, transferred to another account, sold, given away, or used anywhere other than on Inispo. Your available balance does not expire, except when the Programme ends (section 15.3).

11. Withdrawing your Referral balance as cash

Withdrawals may not be available when the Programme first opens. We will tell you when they are. When they are available, the following rules apply:

  • You can request a withdrawal when at least £25 of your Referral balance is withdrawable. The minimum applies to the amount you request.
  • Before your first withdrawal, you must verify your identity. We will ask for your full legal name, date of birth, residential address, a verified mobile number and the details of your bank account, and we may ask for evidence under section 13.4 of the Terms.
  • We pay withdrawals only to a UK bank account in your own name. We never pay to anybody else's account, including a family member's.
  • A member of our team reviews every withdrawal request before we pay it. When you make a request, the amount is set aside: you cannot spend it or request it again. If we reject the request, or you cancel it, the amount returns to your available balance.
  • Any fee charged by our bank or payment provider for sending the payment is deducted from the amount you withdraw. We show you the fee and the amount you will receive before you confirm the request.
  • A withdrawal that has been paid cannot be reversed. If a Reward you withdrew is later deducted under section 9, your balance becomes negative.

We may hold or refuse a withdrawal while a purchase that earned the Rewards has an unresolved refund, chargeback or dispute; while your account is under review, restricted or suspended under section 13 of the Terms; while we check that the name on the bank account matches your verified identity; where we suspect fraud or misuse; or where the law requires it.

You are responsible for any tax that applies to the Rewards you receive.

12. How you may promote your referral link

You may share your referral link anywhere — with people you know, on websites, forums, social media, and voucher, cashback or deal websites — without asking us first, provided that you are honest about what it is. When you share your link publicly and you could earn from it, you must make clear that it is a referral link, as advertising rules require.

You must not:

  • send spam, or send messages to people who have not agreed to receive them;
  • say or suggest that a Referred customer will receive a discount, a bonus or any other benefit, or make any other false or misleading statement about Inispo, our prices or the Programme;
  • present yourself as Inispo or as acting for Inispo, or use our name or logo in a way that suggests this;
  • pay for search engine advertising, such as Google Ads, that is shown when people search for "Inispo" or a similar word, or that uses "Inispo" in the advertisement's text or web address, without our written agreement;
  • create accounts for other people, use another person's details to create an account, or register people without their knowledge;
  • use bots, scripts or other automated means to create accounts or to generate referrals;
  • make, or arrange for somebody else to make, a purchase with a payment method they are not entitled to use, or a purchase intended to be refunded or disputed; or
  • do anything else that creates a Reward without a genuine purchase by a genuine customer behind it.
13. Fraud and misuse of the Programme

If we reasonably believe that you have broken these Referral Terms or section 13 or 15 of the Terms, or that a Reward came from fraud, misuse, a technical error or a purchase that was not genuine, we may do one or more of the following:

  • cancel the Rewards concerned, whether pending or available, and deduct under section 9 any that you have already spent or withdrawn;
  • stop withdrawals, or stop all use of your Referral balance, while we review the matter. A hold of this kind does not remove the Rewards you have earned; they remain on your account until the review ends;
  • move your account to the New Tier, from whatever Tier it is in, including the Partner Tier. This can happen while we review the matter, and it can remain after the review if the review confirms fraud or misuse;
  • stop recording new referrals to you, disable your username, or remove you from the Programme;
  • restrict, suspend or close your account under section 13 of the Terms. If we close it under section 13.8 of the Terms, your unpaid Referral balance is cancelled; and
  • recover from you the value of any Rewards you spent or withdrew that came from fraud or misuse, including by legal action under section 15.5 of the Terms.

You are not responsible for what your Referred customers do. If one of their purchases is refunded or disputed, we deduct only the Reward it created, under section 9, and take no other action against you — unless you were involved in it.

14. What your Referrer can see

If you were referred, your Referrer can see the Rewards they earned from your purchases, with their dates, their amounts and an order reference. Because a Reward is a percentage of face value, the face value of your purchases can be worked out from it. Your Referrer cannot see your name, your email address or which Gift Cards you bought.

Our Privacy Policy explains what referral data we keep and for how long.

15. Changing, pausing or ending the Programme

15.1 Changes. We may change these Referral Terms, the percentages, the waiting periods and the Tier requirements, under section 19 of the Terms. A change to a percentage applies only to purchases that complete after the change takes effect. A change does not reduce a Reward you have already earned, and it does not make a waiting period already shown to you longer.

15.2 Pauses. We may pause the earning, spending or withdrawal of Rewards without notice where this is necessary to correct a technical error or a wrong percentage, or to prevent fraud. A pause does not remove Rewards you have already earned, and we will tell you when it ends.

15.3 Ending the Programme. We may end the Programme by telling you at least 30 days before the date on which it ends (the "end date"). From the day we tell you:

  • purchases completed after that day do not earn Rewards;
  • every Reward that is still pending becomes spendable at once, so that you can use it before the end date. It does not become withdrawable any sooner; and
  • you can use your Referral balance to buy Gift Cards, or withdraw it under section 11 if at least £25 of it is withdrawable.

On the end date, any Referral balance that you have not spent or withdrawn is cancelled, and you cannot claim it afterwards. A withdrawal that you requested before the end date is still reviewed and paid under section 11. A negative balance is also cancelled on the end date, unless it arose from fraud or misuse by you.

15.4 Mistakes. If a Reward is credited by mistake — for example at the wrong percentage, to the wrong person, or for a purchase that did not qualify — we may correct it, even after it has become available. If you have already spent or withdrawn it, section 9.5 applies. If a mistake means you received too little, we will correct that too.

16. Closing your account

Before you close your account, spend your available Referral balance or request a withdrawal. We do not pay out a Referral balance when an account is closed. The balance is kept with the account, and if you reopen it by registering again with the same email address, your balance, negative or positive, is as you left it.
